Steel prices in Kenya vary depending on many factors such as the brand of the commodity, the size of the rebar as well as the location and vendor selling the product.

Steel bar prices increase as one moves away from Nairobi where most millers are located.

Here are the average prices of deformed steel bars in Nairobi.

There are different sizes of rebars, represented as D8, D10, D12, D16, D20, D25, and D32 where D stands for diameter. The reinforcement bars are usually 40 feet long.

A spot check on various vendors has revealed the following prices:

D8 – Sh780, D10 – Sh1,150, D12 – Sh1,650, D16 – Sh2,750, D20 – Sh4,850, D25 – Sh7,250, D32 – Sh9,600, Binding Wire – Sh3,500, Hoop Iron – Sh3,500 (per roll).
